CBB Plays 2/22

A mediocre day yesterday resulted in a 4-3 record. Creighton got dismantled in the second half against Marquette to ruin our 3-team parlay. However, our other two most confident plays, (MSU -3 and Fresno State +2), hit with relative ease. I am still waiting a perfect day, and I have my fingers crossed that today is that day!

Our overall record on trap games currently sits at: 53-39-1 (57.6%)

The Bets:

Georgetown +2.5

Georgetown (7-21), the worst team in the Big East by far, is somehow just a 2.5-point underdog to St. Johns (16-12). Homecourt is obviously playing a factor in this line, by the Hoyas are just 5-10 at home.

St. John's, on paper, should win this game by double digits, which is why I will be taking Georgetown to cover +2.5. Very ugly bet, and my confidence is not super high for this play.

Iowa -1.5

Iowa is once again favored on the road in two consecutive games. Last game when this happened, the Hawkeyes lost by 20 to Northwestern, yet here we are again with the same exact scenario.

They play at Wisconsin, who actually is not that great at home with just an 8-5 record. This is primarily the reason why Vegas has the Hawkeyes favored again, and I am going to hope that Vegas will not make the same mistake again. Iowa -1.5 should be a big win!

Rhode Island -2.5

Rhode Island has really struggled this year and they have only won 8 games on the season. They play at home tonight against George Washington, who is not much better, but does have 5 more wins.

Despite the discrepancy in record, Rhode Island is still expected to win by 2.5-points at home. I like them to win this game, and hopefully they do it handily.

Loyola Chicago +2.5

The ugliest line of the night, so this bet might be my favorite. Loyola Chicago (9-17) is just a 2.5-point underdog against the best record in the Atlantic, Fordham (21-6).

LUC has lost their spark this season, and they are quite bad. No one in their right mind would be on Loyola tonight, which is the reason why I will be taking them +2.5. Hate this play so much that I love it.

Potential Additions:

I currently, at the time or writing, only have those four plays locked in. However, there are a handful of traps that are littering this schedule that I might contemplate adding more. Here are my potential additions to the slate:

  • DePaul -2.5

  • UConn -7.5

  • Vandy -2.5

  • Davidson -6

  • Abilene Christian -1

  • Evansville +1.5

Good luck if tailing, and as always, Godspeed!
