As the NCAA Men's College Hockey season draws to a close, fans are gearing up for the highly anticipated Frozen Four tournament. This year's tournament features four top-ranked teams battling it out for a chance to be crowned national champions.
With the high stakes and intense competition, the Frozen Four promises to be a thrilling event for hockey fans across the country. In this post, we'll take a closer look at the participating teams, and make a parlay for tonight's semifinal matchups. So, grab your favorite hockey jersey and let's dive into the action-packed world of the Men's College Hockey Frozen Four.
The Matchups:
The first game of the night is between the number one overall seed Minnesota Gophers and the Terriers of Boston University.
Minnesota, receiving 38 first place votes in the polls, has been the team to beat all year. They are currently -225 on the MoneyLine tonight, and +116 on the puck line.
The second game of the evening is between my Michigan Wolverines and the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Quinnipiac holds and unbelievable 30-3-3 record on the season and had 12 first place votes. They currently rank second in the polls.
Michigan has fought their way to the frozen four and are one of the hottest teams in the country. They rank third in the rankings, and it will be a huge test for Michigan. Michigan, even though ranked lower and has the worst record, is still a -164 favorite on the MoneyLine and their puck line is at +164.
The Parlay and the Reasoning:
To start off the night, there is a clear better team in the first matchup. Minnesota is a powerhouse and should win this game easily. If you want to be safe go ahead and take the Gophers on the MoneyLine. I, however, will be taking Minnesota on the puck line at +116 and here is why:
I expect Minnesota to win this game, and in their last 12 games they've won, they have covered the puck line in 10 out of the 12 games. They are clearly the better team, and this game could get ugly quick!
Next up is a tough matchup to predict. I of course am bias towards the Wolverines, but Quinnipiac is a very solid team. I think Quinnipiac is even the better team despite being the underdog.
Because of that, I have decided to play it a little safer with this bet so I can still root for Michigan to win yet can bet on Quinnipiac to cover the puck line. Quinnipiac at +1.5 is -200 odds and that will be my play. I love this play, and think Quinnipiac will win outright.
In total, the parlay comes out to be +224 and I love it.
It should be made aware that this is my first College Hockey game betting and watching on the season, so I am no expert. Even with my lack of experience and knowledge on these teams and this sport, I still feel confident in the bet!
As always, good luck, good scores, and Godspeed!
