RBC Heritage Tournament Preview, Predictions, and Top Bets

With the echoes of the Masters still resonating through the golfing world, it's hard not to catch the fever for another round of thrilling competition. As the greens still bask in the glow of Augusta, our sights are set on the next stop in the PGA Tour: the RBC Heritage. This event, now etched as a signature on the golfing calendar, promises excitement, strategy, and the chance for another exhilarating win.

After tasting the sweet victory of an outright win (Scottie Scheffler +450 ✅), I'm hungry for more! So, let's gear up, analyze the field, and uncover potential champions.

Course Preview:

The RBC Heritage is played at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina. It is a 7,213-yard par 71.

This tournament has been upgraded to a Signature Even meaning the field is just 69 players and there will be no cut this week.

After watching players fire away on the tee box last week at Augusta, we will see a change of pace this week. Trees line most fairways, and golfers must be accurate on the tee to set themselves up with the right angles to attack the tiny greens.

Recent Winners:

  • Fitzpatrick

  • Spieth

  • Cink

  • Simpson

  • Cheng-tsung

Outrights:

Will Zalatoris (+3000 DraftKings):

Despite only playing in the RBC once (2021, finished 42nd), Will is still the 10th favorite. Zalatoris finished T9 at the Masters, t4 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T2 at the Genesis. He is in form and it is safe to say he has recovered from his back surgery.

Cam Young (+3000 DraftKings):

Young, off a T9 finish at the Masters, is looking for his first Tour win. He has flirted with victory multiple times in his career with numerous 2nd place finishes (Including a 2nd place finish 3 weeks ago at the Valspar) but has yet to raise a trophy. He's in great form, and like Zalatoris, is the 10th favorite to win the RBC. Placed 3rd at RBC in 2022.

Wyndham Clark (+3500 DraftKings):

Clark is having a great season so far with a win at Pebble and a 2nd place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. A disappointing missed cut at the Masters has Clark eager to bounce back on a course he has struggled with (5 starts, the highest finish was 29th). The odds are just too good to pass up.

Sleepers:

JT Poston (+6500 FanDuel):

The North Carolina native has played RBC extremely well. He has 3 top-10 finishes in 5 starts (3rd 2022, 8th 2020, 6th 2019), He also ranks 5th in the field in strokes gained at Harbour Town. Sign me up at 65 to 1 any day of the week with those stats!

Cam Davis (+7500 FanDuel):

Davis is coming into this tournament with a very impressive and somewhat shocking T12 finish at Augusta last week. Add that confidence with his track record at the RBC and you got yourself one hell of a 75 to 1 ticket! He finished 7th last year at the RBC and 3rd the year prior. This is his year!

No Fun, Safe Bet:

Cantlay Top 10 and Top 5 Finish (+160, +360, DraftKings):

Cantlay is the most consistent guy ever at RBC. 5 of his 6 starts at Harbour Town have ended with him in the top 7. Four of them have resulted in top 3 finishes. (3rd 2023, 2nd 2022, 3rd 2019, 7th 2018, and 3rd 2017). Unfortunately, I despise Cantlay, but can't pass up plus-money odds for stats like that.

Good luck as always if tailing, and make sure you are line shopping when taking outright winners. The odds vary too much from book to book.
