If your favorite college football team is out of playoff contention, then you my friend are in luck. College Basketball season starts off tomorrow and it is going to be one hell of a season. Like me, Michigan Football is looking like they will need anything short of a miracle to make it to the College Football Playoff. However, Michigan Basketball is ranked #6 and are looking to contend for a title.
#6 is honestly a little disrespectful for a team that won the big 10 and is returning pretty much everyone. Their only big loss is really Franz Wagner. He was a solid player and will be hard to replace. Isaiah Livers is also gone, but he was battling injuries all season, and missed numerous games including the entire Tournament. . Michigan has the Nation's #2 recruiting class behind Memphis. They bring in a powerful group of freshman with two 5 stars, and three 4 stars. Among those freshman is 6th overall SF Caleb Houstan. He is a 6'8 3 point specialist and will dominant in Michigan's offensive plan. The other 5 star is 6'10 PF Diabate. He is a little skinny and will need to put on some weight and muscle, but his 7'3 wingspan will be a problem in the paint.
Another key pick up for the wolverines is the Sun Belt Player of the year and leading scorer, Devante' Jones. He mostly likely will be the wolverines starting point guard as they bring back Brooks who will play the 2 guard. Johns also is another returner I often forget about. He is streaky but is a very good defender and can score when he needs to. And last but not least, Big Dicky is back. The freshman Big 10 player of the year, and preseason All-American is looking to continue his dominance this year.
As a life long Michigan fan, this is the best team I've ever seen them assemble. This still means they have to preform, but they definitely wont be out-athleted against any opponent this year. With that given, their odds are at +1200 to win it all. Gonzaga is the favorite, but we all know they will be undefeated and lose to someone in the tourny. The best play for your futures is for Michigan to win it all. There's no better feeling than winning a +1200 future, so don't miss out!
